To reinforce the values of volunteer work included in the Kingdom’s ambitious vision, and to ensure it is based on a quality approach that encourages community adoption, organization, and empowerment, the Madinah Autism Society (Tamkeen) held an event to mark Saudi and International Volunteer Day at the Tamkeen Theater, with the participation of more than 100 volunteers.
The event included dialogue sessions. Participants in the first session spoke about the volunteer journey and the turning point in continuing to give. The session addressed the concept of volunteering in all its aspects, including the basics, commitment, and continuity, as well as volunteer rights and types of volunteer work.
The second session introduced the impact of volunteering on the self, discussed the potential and skills of volunteer work, solidarity and social cohesion, and created volunteer opportunities. It also identified tasks and their benefits, both on the volunteer’s personal and societal levels.
At the conclusion of the event, Tamkeen honored volunteers and partners of success for their contributions and community initiatives.
